Pastoral Care
As part of our life here together in St John’s we want to care for one another on life’s journey, by supporting and encouraging one another through prayer, visiting and meeting together.
Bereavement
A bereavement group meets on the third Friday of the month in the Parish Hub (South Room) between 2-4.00pm to share tea and cake and support one another. This is an ideal opportunity to meet in a safe space with others who have also experienced loss, whether recently or some time ago. If you would be interested in following some group sessions ( video with discussion) on ‘The Bereavement Journey’ to help you process feelings of loss and bereavement please contact us. Once a year we hold an ‘All Souls Service’ in church when we remember those whom we have lost.
Visiting the Sick and Home Communion
Members of our clergy and pastoral team visit people at home who would like to receive communion and /or healing prayer but are unable to come to St John’s Church. Please contact the church office if you or a family member would like to receive this. Healing prayer and services in St John’s Church – please check for details.
Pastoral Support
If you would like to meet a member of the pastoral care team to talk through any issues you may have, please do contact us. You may also find the following booklet called 'Comfort My People' helpful. It is a series of meditations based on Isaiah 40.
